All we have is now...This second...Not the past...Not the future

All we have is now...This second...Not the past...Not the future
As we go though our lives we all often think we have plenty
of time to get it done. In reality we none know how much
time we have. All we can do is assume and we all know what
happens when we assume.

The tomorrow that we all refer to never happens all because
we have made up our minds that tomorrow will be better. Why
do we think that way? God gave us the talent to think and
rationalize, so why all the procrastination? Suppose all
the greats in our history had said" I'll just wait until
tomorrow to get started. I have so many other things that
are taking president that I had better wait until the right
time to get started.'

Some one asked Michael Jordan how he shot so many baskets.
He said," Yes, I have been successful, but I have also
missed over 3,000 baskets. I just made up my mind real fast
that I wanted to play basket ball so I learned to take the
bitter with the sweet."

If anyone is thinking about going in business either on
line, or off line, you have to do exactly what Michael
Jordan did. Make up you mind, don't analyze until you
paralyze, ,just do it. You will never know success or
failure until you try, and the sooner the better.

Normally we search for the right opportunity to come along
and we wait and wait. When we think we have found it,
bingo, we jump in with excitement and big plans. We start
planning vacations, new cars, new homes etc. All of a
sudden things start falling apart. The company has
problems, people start leaving your organization, and your
world begins falling apart.

This is no reason to stop. Quitting is not a good thing.
All we have to do is recognize the problem and if it can't
be fixed use your experience and move on to something else.
There never has been a better time in history than now to
start a networking business. The world is changing fast.
Many companies are now seeing the benefits of having their
employees working from home.

We hear reports that the office away from home is fast
becoming obsolete with many companies because they are
saving a lot of money and also is cutting down on pollution
from automobiles. The employee can do the work at home just
as well as going to an office every day. The realization is
this. As long as you get the work done on time, we don't
care where you do it.

Why not follow this pattern. Put your computer to work for
yourself. Think about money…time…freedom. Think about
staying home and make your self rich rather than making
someone else rich. The absolute only time we own is this
second so why not make the best of it because you will
never have it again.

Just remember this. When you start your business, it is a
business. It does take work and never let anyone tell you
other wise. Build strong today so it will pay you for many
years to come. It does happen, but it never happens for the
quitters.

Looking for a Business Mentor?

Looking for a Business Mentor?
It's understood these days, in a world in which business
can span the globe, that no one person knows everything it
takes to make a business work. There are many diverse
issues that you have to deal with as a new business owner.
Just "getting it done" could be financial suicide. How do
you know when and where to get help? Feeling stressed,
burned out, or unsure of what direction to take next are
good indicators that it may be time to seek out a mentor.

You may choose to seek out a mentor through a networking
organization or an association in your field of business.
You can also call SCORE (Service Corps of Retired
Executives), who will connect you, free of charge, to a
business mentor. When we began building our construction
business full time, I hired a business coach who was also a
retired contractor. He gave us advice and support
throughout the start-up phase of our business.

The value of having a mentor is learning from their
experience and sharing your ideas with a non-biased person,
who can help you reach your goals much faster than if
you're working on your own. A mentor can also help you
with work/balance issues and other decisions that may not
be business related.

In my experience, however, the first place to start is by
listening to your #1 mentor, your own internal counselor.
Some may prefer to call it your intuition - or gut
feelings. I recently read a story in the July 2007,
Science of Mind magazine that demonstrates why you want to
listen first to your #1 mentor.

In 1957, Dr. Leo Windecker had a dream to build a light
weight composite airplane made from reinforced plastic.
His idea for this revolutionary accomplishment was based on
his understanding of the strength and efficiency of human
bones. The more he focused on his dream, the more ideas
came into his consciousness. He was shown ways to
construct a foam and fiberglass airplane that would be
light weight, but strong enough to bear the weight and
force required for an airplane.

In 1969, Dr. Windecker realized his dream when the FAA
certified the first all-composite airplane - the Windecker
Eagle. When asked where his ideas came from, this was his
reply.

"I pretend that there is a vast library 'out there', filled
with all the information in the universe. I describe the
problem to the 'Librarian' and turn it over to Him to
search the library for the solution. I keep a legal pad by
my bed so I can write down His solutions if they come to me
in the middle of the night, which they often do."

Are you making use of the 'Librarian' as you're building
and maintaining your business? If you're having doubts
about this unconventional method of getting advice, just
ask yourself where else you can get a lifetime of first
hand knowledge about what has or has not worked for your
particular lifestyle and business goals?

My coaching request for you is to listen first to your #1
mentor, before seeking outside advice and opinions. While
it's true that no one has all the answers, including
yourself, your intuition is a superior starting point and
can guide you to the best sources for the answers you're
seeking.

Great Santa Suit Costume Tips for the Annual Christmas Helper

Great Santa Suit Costume Tips for the Annual Christmas Helper
The time of the season is coming to think about Santa
suits. With the holiday season approaching all children
begin to think of Christmas with Santa. He is a symbol to
every child in the United States. Santa is not the reason
for Christmas, but for children it is.

So with that said here are some reasons for you to get a
Santa suit this year.

When ordering your Santa suit you have to know who is going
to wear the suit first. If a child is going to wear the
suit for a play then you do not need that much material for
them. But if you are working at the mall you are going to
have to be very detailed on your costume so the children
know it is Santa and not a man. For a office party or party
at home just a little detail would be nice if there are no
kids there.

The best time to order your Santa suite is before Halloween
so you can find them on the website or in a costume store.
Sometimes during the Christmas season you can find a suit
by the lights, and decorations in a retail store.

If you get a job at the department store they usually
provide the Santa Claus suit for you which would save you
time on research and ordering. Just make sure you find out
in plenty of time for ordering if necessary. You can always
rent a Santa suit if you need one on a short notice.

Here are a couple of scenarios when it might make more
sense to make a Santa costume yourself.

- When there is a women who would like to have less fabric
on the suit than the stores provide.

- Children are in a play and they are a tad smaller then
the average Santa.

When you have the Santa suite on there is a way you need to
act. Santa is happy, jolly, and full of joy, at all times.
You never see him getting angry or saying bad words. You
have a reputation to uphold so wear the suit with pride and
have a great holiday. And remember that there are
thousands of children who know who Santa is and what he
stands for.

Hope this helps you find the perfect Santa suit. Just make
sure you give yourself time to order the suit or get it
online as soon as you can. And know if you do run out of
time try going to the stores and looking by the
decorations. You may find one there just for you.

Become an Information Filter and a Knowledge Sponge

Become an Information Filter and a Knowledge Sponge
On your daily journey to achieve your WHY, you will travel
through many different avenues and sometimes you will ask
yourself, "Why do I need to meet this person or experience
this situation?" The key is to truly understand that you
must become an information filter and use your personal
God-given filters -- your eyes and your ears. I always say
that you were born with 4 inputs (2 eyes, 2 ears) and 1
output (mouth).

When you decide to become a filter and filter through all
the information that is taken in through your inputs, you
will begin to find answers to the reasons for certain
experiences in your life. What you learn from each
situation that you experience will be the foundation for
future decisions. My personal view is that "every failure
is a stepping stone to success, which in turn will become a
very long and lovely stone walkway into the castle of your
dreams." Very simply, this quote means out of every
failure you will filter information that will empower you
to make wiser decisions based on information you learned
from your personal failures!

As you begin to realize you must become a filter - listen
and observe more than you talk, you will be amazed at the
insight you gain. When you combine becoming a knowledge
sponge, along with being a filter, you will empower
yourself to achieve your WHY! Becoming a knowledge sponge
is very simple. You must immerse yourself in the knowledge
of the #1 people in your field of endeavor. When I first
became a distributor in a direct sales organization, I
simply did some research and found out what the #1 earners
in direct sales/network marketing were doing. As I result,
I broke all records and built enormous sales organizations.
I was nothing special, but the methods I used were special
because they were proven to work. Remember, the smartest
people are those that realize they are not the brightest or
the best.

Each day that you embark upon your journey toward your Why,
you need to be constantly absorbing as much information as
possible. Success leaves clues, and usually it is a long
list of failures accompanied with one major success. I can
tell you that if you have failed in the past and right now
are questioning your actions, just become an information
filter and knowledge sponge. Start to utilize your four
inputs and before you know it, you will hit the mark and
succeed! I highly suggest listening to positive personal
development tapes and reading some positive material EACH
AND EVERY DAY in order to saturate your sponge with the
proper knowledge!

Find your WHY and Fly!

Lightyear Alliance Review

Lightyear Alliance Review
Upon initial investigation, when conducting a review of
Lightyear Alliance, it appears to be a no-brainer to join
as an independent representative because of its seemingly
solid foundation as a provider of digital phone services.
But after doing more research there may also be a real
downside.

Lightyear Alliance is a telecommunications provider of VoIP
which stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol and is
basically digital phone service. A July 2005 issue of
Fortune Magazine called VoIP the "most important shift in
the entire history of modern communications since the
invention of the telephone."

Lightyear Alliance was founded in October 2003 by Sherman
Henderson with a mission to become the largest provider of
VoIP technology in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Additionally, Lightyear Alliance is the first direct
marketing sales provider of the digital phone service. Or
in other words, Lightyear Alliance provides VoIP through
network marketing and was the first to do so.

At first glance it seems to make sense to join Lightyear
Alliance as a representative because it sells a product
consumers will be using as a new phone service and
representatives get paid a commission of each consumer's
phone bill.

But once more of a review is conducted on Lightyear
Alliance it may not be as much of a no-brainer as once
thought.

Why Network Marketing Fails:

It is a statistically documented fact that 95% of all
network marketing representatives will fail no matter how
great the product or the company. Since Lightyear Alliance
is also a network marketing company it is not immune from
this fact as well.

To become a representative of Lightyear Alliance a one-time
licensing fee of $349 is paid and a replicated website is
provided.

To a brand new entrepreneur it usually seems like an easy
thing to drive traffic to your replicated site and have a
certain number of people who visit the site join your team
and start providing you growing commission checks in the
mail.

But the more experienced business-minded professional knows
driving traffic to a replicated site and converting that
traffic to sales or new distributors is almost impossible.
Due to this high degree of difficulty most people will fail
as a representative in Lightyear Alliance or any network
marketing business for that matter.

Another Documented Fact:

It is also well documented that most telecommunication
network marketing companies collapse within 5 years.
However with most of those failures the products being sold
were services at much higher prices than other well-known
providers at the time. In other words, they failed because
they cost consumers more money. But on the good side of
Lightyear Alliance, VoIP is sold for less than through
other providers.

More well-known providers of VoIP spend as much as 7
million dollars a day in advertising. Lightyear Alliance
doesn't spend any money on advertising because its
independent representatives do the advertising. Thus
Lightyear Alliance can provide VoIP for significantly less
than national providers.

Why Do The 5% Succeed?

As 95% of network marketers fail another 5% succeed. And
those that do succeed usually all become millionaires
because their monthly commission checks are in the amounts
that most people make in an entire year in the corporate
world.

So how do you become one of the 5% that succeed? First, you
need to make sure the product you are selling is of real
value in the marketplace. Second you need to know how to
market.

As far as Lightyear Alliance is concerned the product of
digital phone service is of real value in today's
marketplace. And although most telecommunication network
providers usually fail in 5 years that should not be a
problem for Lightyear Alliance because they sell VoIP for
much less than other providers in the marketplace.

However, the fact still remains that most Lightyear
Alliance distributors will fail unless they gain an
education of how to market to build their business fast and
effectively.

In conclusion, Lightyear Alliance is a solid company in my
review and it sells a product of real value. However, even
though Lightyear Alliance is solid, it still is a network
provider and it does not properly train its representatives
to succeed in this competitive industry and within the
direct sales business model.

Get Past Procrastination and Into Client Attraction: My 5 Steps to Getting Things Done

Get Past Procrastination and Into Client Attraction: My 5 Steps to Getting Things Done
Have you ever looked at your to-do list and just wanted to
run away? Sometimes, procrastination gets the best of us
self-employed people. It seems that everything is priority
and we tend to put some things on the back burner. The
thing is, if the items on your to-do list have to do with
marketing and Client Attraction, then you don't want to
ignore them (if you do, your pipeline of prospects will be
empty in 6 months).

Procrastination creeps its ugly head in my business every
now and then. Personally, I think it's more overwhelm than
procrastination and the list can be so overwhelming that I
tend to go in avoidance/denial mode, preferring to just not
deal with it. (Has that ever happened to you too?)

Realistically, you can't ignore having to market yourself,
so you sometimes just have to bite the bullet and do what
it takes. Here's my personal action checklist to take me
from procrastination to massive action:

1. Prioritize: Your list may be a mile long or just a half
page long. Either way, the best way to get into action is
to sort out what your return on investment is going to be
for each item on your list (financially, time-wise,
resource-wise) and then sort them by the one that will reap
the most benefits (e.g., clients and revenue) from the
littlest output on your part. You'll start with that one.

2. What's getting in the way? Sometimes, I find
procrastination is more about something getting in the way
than anything else. It could be you don't have every piece
of the puzzle to be able to move forward into accomplishing
something. It could be you don't know how to do ONE aspect
of it. It could also be that this is a SHOULD and isn't
absolutely necessary to your success. Whatever's holding
you back, just get clear on it.

3. How long will it REALLY take: I've found that often, I
delay on a marketing task (or any task, for that matter)
because I anticipate it taking a lot longer than it really
will. To get past this, look at a task and ask yourself how
long it will realistically take to get done. Then, take out
the to-do list and write down the time it will take you to
accomplish it next to each item (15 minutes, 2 hours, etc.).

4. Schedule it: Look at your calendar and find time slots
that correspond to the time allotment for each task you did
above and schedule them, as if they were client
appointments you were unable to cancel.

5. Just do it: Once you've got the "task appointments"
scheduled in your book, just do them. You'll power through
them like you've never done before. It's actually pretty
cool. Your Assignment:

When marketing yourself, take notice of when you start
slipping into procrastination mode (it happens to most
everyone, believe me). Prioritize the tasks on your list to
focus on the ones that will get you the highest return on
investment, notice what's getting in the way or what piece
is missing, and solve the issue accordingly, establish how
long it will take to get done, and then schedule it in your
calendar. You'll have no excuse not to do it.

Remember, there's never a point at which you can say (about
marketing), "I'm successful now, I might as well take a
nap." Notice the very successful entrepreneurs you look up
to. They never stop marketing. In fact, they're always
adding new things to their existing marketing plans. Do the
same. Get past your procrastination and into Client
Attraction. ALWAYS BE MARKETING and you'll always have
clients (especially if you have systems in place).

Is Your New Business Kicking Your Behind?

Is Your New Business Kicking Your Behind?
When you're building a home based business, discouragement
comes often. Money goes out faster than it comes in.
Customers don't seem to know you exist. How do you cope
when you can't pay the bills?

When I was dealing with these situations, taking the time
to nurture my spirit and build belief in myself saved me.
Taking time for whatever inspires you is a requirement for
a new home based business owner. When you feel inspired,
you're tapping into something bigger than any problems you
may have on your plate. Taking the time to do what
inspires you, creates breathing room so you can see your
challenges from a fresh perspective.

Have you heard the story about The Blind Men and the
Elephant? Three blind men decided they wanted to know what
an elephant felt like, since they couldn't see one. When a
merchant with a herd of elephants came along, he overheard
them talking and offered to let them touch one of his
elephants. The merchant led each man individually to
different parts of the elephant. One man touched the
forelegs, one touched the trunk, and one touched the tail.

Later the three men talked about their experience. Each
one had a very different perspective. One said it must
resemble two big trees. The second one said it was similar
to a snake, long and round, and very strong. The third one
said it was like a straw fan swinging back and forth to
give a breeze, but not so big or well made.

The moral to this story is, how can anyone know what's true
until they can see the whole picture? We are like the
three blind men, we don't know the whole picture.

When we started our home business, I couldn't see the whole
picture. But I knew other people had built successful home
businesses. I knew there was a way that I could do it too,
if I stayed plugged into the energy and knowledge of those
that had already been successful. I knew this energy would
give me the inspiration and ideas I needed each step of the
way. Where do those ideas come from? That is a question we
each must answer for ourselves. In my case, I listened and
took action when I received inspiration, and eventually I
began to see the whole picture come into focus.

What is your source of inspiration? Maybe it's a good
book, a walk to clear your head, gardening, petting your
dog, or talking to your coach. You have your own unique
way of opening your mind, so that just the right ideas can
present themselves to you. The key is to honor and act on
those inspirations, so they will keep coming!

My question for you is - what inspires you?

How to keep mistakes with clients from turning cancerous.

How to keep mistakes with clients from turning cancerous.
Don't you hate it when a client emails you: "You know, I
feel really ignored. Why haven't you responded to my last
email?"

Or how about: "This class isn't working for me. I'm in a
completely different place with my situation from the other
participants, and you aren't following me at all." And of
course: "What's that thing on your website? Is it a
squashed bug? Boy, your website is ugly."

You make mistakes with them all the time. Really
heartening, ain't it?

You forget to send an email you promised. A report is full
of typos, or a contract has the wrong name on it. You're
massaging someone and press too hard, and never checked to
see if the amount of pressure was okay.

And then sometimes it's not your mistake.

A client feels shy and doesn't ask for help, and you never
know it. Nevertheless, they boil with resentment and
feelings of being ignored.

Someone has bought one of your products, and they forget to
give you a different shipping address from the billing
address, and the product gets to them, but very late.

Your fault? Of course not. Still damaging to your business?
You bet it is.

Bad news for you, the best news for you. The best news?

When is the best time to hear about cancer?

Let's face it: there is never a good time to hear bad news
from your doctor, or your client. But, if you've got to
hear it, wouldn't it be best to hear it earlier rather than
later?

Fear of that bad news keeps us hiding under the covers.
Despite all the warning signs, it's easy to ignore when
something is off. And we never ask. And they never tell.

It takes a lot of gumption to complain.

You see, as insecure as you feel at times, your clients
feel the same way. They don't want to be thought of as a
'problem child.' They also don't want to get into an
argument, or sour the relationship.

They might feel that their problem isn't worthwhile, that's
it's just a little niggle of an issue. So they don't say
anything. And the niggle grows. And grows. And grows.

Are you asking for the bad news?

You may think that asking your clients for the bad news
will remind them of how miserable you are at what you do,
bringing the ax down on your relationship.

But, it doesn't. Strangely enough, people like it. They
like you better. And, what's best, is that it gives you a
chance to fix a problem before it gets really bad.

So ask for it. Ask "What's wrong." Ask it often. Over and
over. At first you won't hear much, but over time your
clients will trust you more and more, and you'll hear more
and more.

It's a painful thing to do. And you may want to squirm out
of following through with this. If that's your inclination,
then stay with me just a little longer.

Keys to Making the Best of Bad News.

• Find some empathetic support.

Hearing problems and criticisms from clients is not fun. It
just isn't. And, when you open the door, you may well hear
some anger, resentment, frustration as well.

Before you do it, line up some folks who can give you some
empathy and some space to be with your own emotions. To
help you take a deep breath and not take it personally.
It's not personal.

Remember that the only reason they are telling you this
stuff is because you made it safe enough. People don't tell
problems when it's not safe. They only complain when there
is enough trust and safety to do so. It's a good sign. It
just doesn't feel that way.

For this reason, you may want to start out asking for the
feedback in written form, so you can take your time with it.

• Give them empathy.

Once you've received empathy, you will want to give your
clients empathy. Let them know: "Wow, I bet you're angry
(frustrated, sad, upset, disappointed) about that. I really
hear you." And let yourself see it from their point of
view, so it's authentic.

That empathy is the most important part, because without
it, they won't care about whether you fix it or not.
They'll still have these unresolved emotions, even once
things get better.

• Fix the problem.

Now that empathy's been handed all around, you can actually
make it right. You fix your mistakes, change the structure
of your class, be more attentive, whatever it is that's
needed.

You can also let people know that it's gone on a to-do
list. You may not be able to fix it immediately, but with
authentic empathy, they will have more patience.

Unspoken problems from clients have a way of becoming
cancerous. They can kill your business faster than you know.

If you ask for the bad news often and early, your own
clients help make your business better, stronger, and more
effective. And you will build trust with them like never
before.

Most of you have those tedious "To Do" list that you create
in an effort to get more things done in your day. But
let's take time to really look at your "To Do" list. The
actual words "To Do" have a negative connotation, and when
you look at that list on a daily basis you think to
yourself, "I MUST get this stuff done!". It's like meeting
a deadline on a daily basis. You absolutely dread it! You
should just call it your "To Don't" list, because it's not
something that you even look forward to doing.

So, what kinds of things are on these "To Do" list?

1. Go to the gym

2. Take the kids to baseball practice

3. Make (3) new contacts for my business

4. Pick-up the laundry

5. Coaching session

6. Tele-Class

7. Book flights for upcoming seminar

That's right, this is an example of the infamous "To Do"
list that you write out every day, and you drive yourself
crazy trying to get everything done. Then at the end of
the day, you wad up your list and throw it away. No matter
if you finished everything or not. Does this make sense?
No. Why should you torture yourself by making a list of
things that will ultimately hang over your head all day
long. Plus, most of the time the things on your "To Do"
list are important to you and you should feel a sense of
accomplishment after you complete them. I know that you
are saying to yourself, "John, I have to write things down
or I won't do them, and these things are important." I
agree with you 100%, but there is another way…something you
won't hate and resent doing on a daily basis. You must
make this list important to you and feel good about
yourself when you complete it or even most of it.

Develop a Champion Checklist! Doesn't that sound better
and more powerful? How would you feel at the end of your
day if you accomplished the majority of things on your
"Champion Checklist"? Here's another tip. Don't throw it
away day after day after day. Keep your Champion Checklist
in a journal or simply a notebook. This will allow you to
look back at your lists at the end of the week and see all
of the things that you achieved. On the other hand, it
will also act as your guide to things that you can do
better such as time management.

My challenge for you today is to commit to tearing up your
"To Do" list and replace it with a "Champion Checklist".
Will you do it or will you continue to begin everyday
staring at a list that haunts you all day long? It's up to
you! This simple change will produce drastic results for
you.
